MOGADISHU // The president of Somalia received Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Foreign Minister, and other UAE officials on Sunday.
The two sides discussed cooperation, promoting relations and humanitarian and development projects carried out by the UAE in Somalia in the areas of security, health care and services.
Sheikh Abdullah conveyed to Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud the greetings of Sheikh Khalifa, UAE president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and their best wishes for stability, progress and prosperity for Somalia.
President Mohamud said enhancing relations with the UAE is a priority for his government.
Reem Al Hashemy, Minister of State, and Mohammed Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to Somalia, attended the meeting, along with Somali officials from sectors including foreign affairs, transport, finance, national security, education, health and intelligence.
