So­mali Pres­i­dent Mo­hamed Ab­dul­lahi Far­majo vis­ited his fu­ture res­i­dence to­day where he was wel­comed by for­mer Pres­i­dent Has­san Sheikh Mo­hamud.

The pair held their first meet­ing be­hind closed doors where they dis­cussed de­tails of the tran­si­tion. Has­san Sheikh Mo­hamud pledged his sup­port to Far­ma­jo’s ad­min­is­tra­tion and said he would co­op­er­ate to en­sure a smooth

Af­ter the meet­ing, for­mer Pres­i­dent Has­san Sheikh gave Pres­i­dent Far­majo a tour of the Villa So­ma­lia.

Al­pha Group, an elite unit of So­mali sol­diers trained in the US has been pro­vid­ing se­cu­rity for the Pres­i­dent since his elec­tion.

Mean­while, at the tomb of the un­known sol­dier, an­other pro-Far­majo demon­stra­tion was held.

The rally was mostly at­tended by women and chil­dren and was held by the Mayor of the Mo­gadishu.

Al­though he is the act­ing Pres­i­dent since Has­san Shiekh Mo­hamud’s man­date ex­pired, Far­majo will for­mally take the reins af­ter his in­au­gu­ra­tion next month.
